To live forever, be kind
Hi!
I chanced upon this comic by The Oatmeal, in collaboration with with @Asmallfiction last week. I thought it made a good follow up to my earlier post on treating others better.
(You might need to display images to see it)
At several points in my life I worried very much that I was easy to forget. I worried that close friends would drift away, or that I would not be included in a group. People often paid notice to those who were doing well. I wondered if I was not successful enough or not fun enough to be worth remembering. I still struggle with this, but I deal with it better as I think I have grown slightly wiser and learnt that there is nothing wrong with being forgotten. Better to be internally assured that I am doing right by myself, than to be concerned whether I was on the minds of others.
It is rare to hear of being kind as a goal, and even harder to carry it out. Do share if you have ideas of how we can be more kind to others, or if you have experienced kindness.
Have a great week!
